Walter Martinez, RA, NCARB
Founder & Principal
Walter is an architect and a building envelope consultant with 31 years experience.
Walter founded WLM_A in 2016, following a long tenure at Vidaris/Israel Berger & Associates (IBA), a building envelope consulting firm, where he was a Principal working on landmark projects throughout the United States and Latin America. During his tenure he had the opportunity to collaborate with many highly accomplished building owners, developers, and managers, as well as the architecture firms of Pritzker Prize architects such as Álvaro Siza Vieria, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, Jean Nouvel, and Christian de Portzamparc.
Walter holds a B.S. in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). He is a licensed and Registered Architect (RA) in NY, CT, FL, MA, NJ, and PA. He is also a NYC Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI).
Amir Chouhan, Associate AIA
Director of Consulting
Amir is an architectural designer and a building envelope consultant with 24 years experience. He manages our projects and technical consulting services.
Prior to joining WLM_A, Amir worked at CNY Group, a construction management firm; Soho Properties, a real estate development and investment firm; and Vidaris/Israel Berger & Associates (IBA), a building envelope consulting firm.
Amir holds a B.Arch from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) from where he graduated Cum Laude and achieved the NYIT Presidential Honor’s Award. He is a Carlisle CCW Certified 3rd-Party Inspector and a Laurenco Waterproofing Certified 3rd-Party Inspector.
Francisco Martinez, CSI
Director of Operations
Francisco is a project manager with 29 years experience. He manages our accounting, business administration, and compliance requirements.
Prior to joining WLM_A, Francisco worked at DKB Group, an insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm; and Stryker, a medical devices and equipment manufacturing company.
Francisco studied literature and philosophy at Saint Peter’s University.
Louis Mejias, RA
Associate
Louis is an architect and professional consultant with 30 years experience. He assists with our team with technical consulting services.
Prior to working with WLM_A, Louis worked at Property Solutions Inc., an environmental and engineering consulting firm; Princeton University, Office of Physical Planning; Tighe, Doty, Carrino, PA, an architectural design firm; The Spiezle Architectural Group, and architectural firm; Public Heath Trust, University of Miami Jackson Memorial Medical Center; and Naya Architects, an architectural design firm.
Louis holds a B.S. in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). He is a licensed and Registered Architect (RA) in NY and FL.
Mario Orbe
Associate
Mario is an architectural designer and a design and construction consultant with 46 years experience. He assists our team with technical consulting services.
Prior to working with WLM_A, Mario worked with Paul DeMassi AIA, a design architect; RSC Architects, an architectural design firm; N.J. Cifaretto AIA, an architectural design firm; Thornton Tomasetti, a structural engineering firm; and TFC Associates, a structural and mechanical engineering firm.
Mario holds a Construction Engineering Technology (CET) degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
